Job Summary
The MGS Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and operating all equipment associated with the MGS machine. This role requires mastery of scan gun functions, basic ERP system transactions, and a strong understanding of the custom packaging program. Operators will also utilize a crane to safely lift and move completed reels. The position always requires the individual to be safety conscious and comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (E.H.S.) procedures. Successful candidates must be able to follow company policies and procedures, communicate effectively, cross-train fellow employees, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Set up, monitor, and operate equipment associated with the re-reel machine
- Tow motor and high lift operation
- Maintain and oversee maintenance of equipment
- Adjust controls and settings to regulate speed of machine, length of wire, and size of reels and coils to maximize efficiency and production
- Mastery of Inkjet printers; Ability to apply new Print legends, manage current Print legends, run routine shutdowns, troubleshoot printer errors, maintain PM’s, and adhere to all specifications and guidelines
- Mastery of scan gun processing to label products for further processing, storage, or shipping. This includes issue/receipt and conversion and the basic ability to create jobs and transfer materials in ERP system
- Must be cross trained and proficient on two additional production operator roles; Ability to fill in as needed
- Operate strapping machine; to coil cable prior to packaging
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Responsible to report any deviations or quality issues to Manager
- Responsible for communication and assisting in cross-training
- Change Production jobs within Syspro when needed to match production output.
- Advanced packaging and labeling of finished product
Skills
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret routine instructions
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Organized with the ability to problem solve in an industrial environment
- Ability to operate material movement and packaging equipment
Schedule
M-F
2:30pm-11:00pm
