Brougham Ambulance is hiring Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) for our Santa Fe Springs Station. We are dedicated to transporting patients in a professional and safe manner. The ideal employee for this position must be able to work in a fast paced environment and a professional attitude.
As a Basic Life Support EMT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients during transport to medical appointments, rehab centers, healthcare, and medical center facilities. We are currently seeking dedicated and qualified individuals who are committed to making a positive impact to patients in their community.
Requirements:
- Valid CA driver's license
- Current EMT card
- Current CPR, First Aid & AED Certificate
- Current Medical Examiners certificate.
- Current DMV History Report (K-4) with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation and pre-employment screening, which includes medical examination, drug, and alcohol screening.
- Excellent customer service experience.
- Strong work ethic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely transport/assess/ treat patients in an ambulance to and from medical facilities.
- Provide compassionate care and assistance to patients with medical needs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle.
- Communicate with healthcare staff and dispatch to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Perform both the role of a driver and attendant.
- Maintain an exceptional customer service and professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically able to step up and down steps with a stair chair or other equipment.
- Safely secure patients for transport to gurney.
- Must be physically able to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Transfer patients safely to and from gurney or stair chair.
- Must be physically able to kneel, walk, stand, lift, push and pull.
- Must be physically able to sit and drive for prolong periods.
Shifts:
- 10-12 hour shifts
- Day and night shifts
