Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Locum Nurse Practitioner - Electrophysiology for our client in New York!
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized Electrophysiology and Cardiology clinical services across a blend of academic/training, private clinic, and hospital settings.
- Manage an active daily patient volume averaging 18 patients per day, serving an adult and geriatric population (ages 18–100).
- Oversee comprehensive pre-operative preparation and post-operative management for patients undergoing complex cardiac procedures.
- Manage specialized cardiac care pathways, with exposure to post-operative cases involving pacemakers, ICD implants, loop recorders, ablations, and interventional cardiology procedures (e.g., PCI, balloon pumps).
- Collaborate closely with an assigned clinical support team within a dedicated 270-bed intervention and electrophysiology department.
- Document all patient assessments, treatment interventions, and clinical plans accurately using the Epic EMR system.
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner with a specialized focus or strong clinical background in Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology, or General Cardiology.
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible status.
- Active state medical license matching the facility's location.
- Current ACLS, BLS, and DEA Controlled Substance Registration certifications.
Schedule
- Coverage dates: Starting 09/01/2026
- Structure: Full-time commitment providing 40 hours per week; scheduled clinical hours are combined with weeknight call requirements (all nights).
- Shift breakdown: Standard 4-day work week with 10-hour daytime shifts (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM).
- Work setting: Dynamic combination of academic, clinic, and inpatient hospital environments.
- Privileges: Temporary privileges are available for candidates with a clean background file.
- Credentialing timeframe: Standard 90-day process.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in cardiology, interventional cardiology, and electrophysiology clinical care.
- Technical expertise in navigating and utilizing the Epic EMR system for procedural and clinical charting.
- Ability to maintain high efficiency and a steady clinical pace with 18 patient encounters per day.
- Strong specialized knowledge in the post-operative management of device implants and cardiac ablation therapies.
- Excellent communication and cooperative skills required to work seamlessly with an assigned clinical team in a teaching/academic environment.
