Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Opener to join our team in a fast-paced café environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth opening process, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and preparation. This role requires strong time management skills and a passion for coffee and food service.
Duties
- Open the café promptly and prepare the environment for daily operations.
- Operate POS systems efficiently for order processing and cash handling.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and addressing inquiries.
- Prepare coffee beverages, food items, and ensure adherence to food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment and workstations.
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while following company policies for cash handling.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive work atmosphere and efficient service flow.
Experience
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Barista experience or knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is beneficial.
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on creating a welcoming environment.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math applications are essential.
- Time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks during busy periods are necessary.
