Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and monitoring anesthesia
- Perform animal restraint, handling, and positioning to ensure safety and comfort during treatments and diagnostics
- Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, sample collection, and processing tests such as radiology diagnostics and veterinary laboratory analysis
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments accurately following veterinary instructions
- Operate medical equipment including X-ray machines, diagnostic radiology tools, and anesthesia monitoring devices with precision
- Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and animal catheterization to prevent infections
- Support pet care activities such as grooming, pet grooming advice, and pet handling to promote overall well-being
- Record detailed patient information in veterinary software systems while ensuring compliance with medical records protocols
- Assist with critical & intensive care procedures, including IV insertion, vascular access management, and emergency medicine interventions
- Communicate effectively with clients about pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs to foster trust and understanding
Requirements
- Active Veterinary Technician License (CVT, LVT, RVT)
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary procedures
- Hands-on experience with veterinary anesthesia monitoring, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and laboratory work
- Familiarity with general anesthesia protocols and veterinary critical care practices in emergency medicine settings
- Ability to operate diagnostic radiology equipment such as X-ray machines confidently
- Excellent animal handling skills with a focus on safety during restraint and sedation procedures
- Prior veterinary technician experience or related veterinary experience is highly preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment scheduling
- Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
