Overview
Join our team as a Middle School Girls' Volleyball Coach and inspire young athletes to develop their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship! This paid coaching position offers an exciting opportunity to lead energetic and enthusiastic middle school girls through a rewarding volleyball season. You will foster a positive environment that promotes physical activity, personal growth, and team spirit while ensuring safety and skill development at every step. - Two practices per week
- Practice times: 3:30-5:00 PM, plus set up and take down
- 8-10 total games in the season
- Game times, dates, and location vary. Games are mostly contained to West LA, Inglewood, El Segundo areas.
- Playing schedule is set by our league (Foundation for Interscholastic Youth Athletics - FIYA).
- Hourly pay, est. $200-250 per week
- Season runs September-November
- $20-25 per hour, depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute engaging volleyball practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies tailored for middle school girls
- Lead team practices and games with enthusiasm, motivating players to perform their best while emphasizing sportsmanship and discipline
- Monitor safety protocols during all activities, including proper use of equipment and adherence to health guidelines
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school staff to provide updates on team progress, schedules, and upcoming events
- Implement behavior management strategies to foster a respectful and inclusive team environment
- Coordinate with school athletic staff to ensure compliance with league rules and facility policies
- Maintain accurate attendance records, practice schedules, and game statistics to track team progress
- Must be able to come to NDA campus for practices and travel to a variety of off-campus locations for games. No middle school games are played on NDA's campus
Qualifications
- Must be willing to complete Human Resources on-boarding; including VIRTUS training, Livescan fingerprint background check
- Volleyball playing experience is a must. Coaches must have a minimum of high school or club level playing experience. We offer increased pay for college or professional volleyball playing experience
- Volleyball coaching experience is preferred, but not mandatory. We offer increased pay for coaches with club, high school, or college coaching experience in volleyball
- Ability to contribute positively to a private, Catholic education environment
- Experience working with children or adolescents in a coaching or teaching capacity
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and school personnel
