Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Autism Waiver Therapeutic Integration Center
Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a Therapeutic Integration Center setting. In this role, you will provide direct care, implement individualized support plans, and facilitate meaningful community and center-based activities that promote independence, social development, and overall well-being. Your work will play a critical role in helping individuals build life skills and actively engage in their communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with autism in accordance with their Individual Plan (IP) and behavior support strategies
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed, including personal hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobility support
- Implement therapeutic and behavioral interventions as outlined in individualized support plans
- Facilitate structured daily activities, including life skills training, social skills development, and community integration outings
- Support individuals in achieving personal goals related to independence, communication, and social interaction
- Monitor and document daily activities, progress notes, and behavioral data accurately in systems such as Therap
- Ensure the health and safety of all individuals by following established policies, procedures, and emergency protocols
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs and restrictions are followed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and families regarding participant progress and concerns
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder or developmental disabilities preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and person-centered support approaches is highly desirable
- Ability to document services accurately and in a timely manner (experience with Therap or similar systems is a plus)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient and supportive demeanor
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors in a professional and calm manner
- Ability to drive is mandatory
- Physical ability to assist with mobility and perform job-related tasks as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional relevant training or certifications are a plus
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work a consistent schedule
Work Environment & Schedule
- Picking up and drop off of individuals
- Therapeutic day program / community-based setting
- May include community outings and activities
- Schedule may vary based on program needs (daytime hours, with occasional flexibility required)
