Schedule: Sundays, approximately 4.5 hours per week

Position Overview
Southern Hills Church of Christ is seeking an experienced, dependable, and service-minded A/V Sound Technician to support our Sunday worship services through high-quality live sound production. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience operating church, live event, or concert audio systems and a desire to use their technical skills in a ministry environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Operate and manage the church's live sound system during Sunday worship services.
- Set up, soundcheck, and monitor microphones, instruments, speakers, monitors, and other audio equipment.
- Provide a balanced, clear, and consistent mix for worship services.
- Monitor audio levels throughout the service and make adjustments as needed.
- Troubleshoot basic audio and equipment issues quickly and effectively.
- Coordinate with worship leaders, musicians, pastors, and other service participants regarding audio needs.
- Assist with setup and teardown of A/V equipment as needed.
- Maintain an organized and professional sound booth and equipment area.
- Follow established church procedures for equipment use, storage, and care.
- Help ensure a smooth and distraction-free worship experience from a technical standpoint.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous hands-on experience with live sound production is required.
- Experience operating digital or analog mixing consoles.
- Familiarity with microphones, monitors, speakers, signal flow, gain structure, and basic audio troubleshooting.
- Ability to confidently operate sound equipment independently during a live service.
- Dependable and punctual, with the ability to consistently serve on Sundays.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Professional, respectful, and team-oriented communication skills.
- Church or worship-service experience is preferred but not required.
Additional Event Opportunities
There may be opportunities for additional paid event-related A/V work outside of the regular Sunday schedule. These opportunities may include special services, weddings, conferences, concerts, community events, or other church functions requiring live sound support.
Schedule
The regular commitment is approximately 4.5 hours each Sunday, including setup, soundcheck, the worship service, and teardown as needed. Additional event hours may be available based on church needs and the technician's availability.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
