Grant’s Farm is seeking a dependable and skilled General Maintenance Technician to help ensure our facilities and grounds remain safe, operational, and inviting for all visitors. This position requires various preventative and building maintenance on all the prestigious and historic structures on Grant’s Farm. In addition, this role partners with other departments through proper communication to address Grant’s Farm needs. This role will also recommend ways by which the safety and well-being of other team members, animals, farm processes and procedures are always maintained.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, infrastructure, grounds, and farm equipment

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment (forklift, skid
steer, trailers) in performing duties.

Experience with power equipment: forklifts, skid loaders, tractors, zero turn mowers, aerial lifts, etc. preferred (training can be provided)

Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical and carpentry issues

Respond to emergencies and support any after-hour needs of the Farm or Facility.

Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and mechanical systems and report findings

Ability to utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document maintenance activities, track assets, and support preventative maintenance programs.

Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 18 years of age with one year of post high school c or work experience.

Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, power equipment, and carpentry systems.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Must have the ability and knowledge to use hand and power tools.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must be able to lift or carry 50 lbs.

Must be able to operate heavy machinery and use hand and electrical tools.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, weekends, evenings and holidays.

Must be able to work and walk outdoors in all weather conditions including heat, inclement weather, cold, etc.
