TOWNSHIP MANAGER
Location: Hazle Township, Pennsylvania

Hazle Township, a Second Class Township of Pennsylvania is seeking a qualified, experienced professional to serve as its Township Manager. This position is responsible for the efficient administration of all Township departments and services, implementation of policies established by the Board of Supervisors, and management of Township staff, operations, and finances.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, communication and financial management skills, along with a thorough understanding of municipal government operations in Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Township and oversee daily municipal operations.
· Implement policies, Ordinances, and directives adopted by the Board of Supervisors.
· Supervise and coordinate the work of Township departments and staff.
· Prepare and administer the annual Township budget and monitor and report on financial performance.
· Provide professional advice and recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on municipal operations, policies and planning initiatives.
· Oversee Township contracts, purchasing and procurement activities.
· Coordinate with Township Solicitor, Engineer, consultants and other professional advisers.
· Manage public works, road maintenance, parks, zoning, code enforcement, and other municipal services.
· Attend and participate in meetings of the Board of Supervisors, and other Township committees.
· Ensure compliance with applicable Pennsylvania Laws, including the Second Class Township Code, Sunshine Act and Right to Know Law.
· Represent the Township in meetings with residents, regional organizations, and governmental agencies.
· Promote effective communication with residents and stakeholders.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration or a related field (Master’s Degree Preferred)
· Minimum 5 plus years of progressively responsible municipal management experience, preferably in Pennsylvania local government.
· Knowledge of the Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code and municipal finance practices.
· Demonstrated experience in budgeting, personnel management, and municipal operations.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with elected officials, employees, and the public.
Preferred Skills and Experience
· Experience serving as the Township Manager, assistant manager, or department head in municipal government.
· Knowledge of land use planning, zoning administration, and public works management.
· Familiarity with grant administration and capital improvement planning.
· Professional certifications such as ICMA Credentialed Manager or PA Local Government Management Association membership are desirable.
