New Brighton Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team serving residents in both skilled nursing and long-term care.
The COTA will work under the direction of the Occupational Therapist to help residents improve independence, daily functioning, and overall quality of life through individualized therapy programs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist
- Provide therapeutic interventions focused on activities of daily living, mobility, coordination, strength, and cognitive functioning
- Monitor and report resident progress to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy team members, physicians, residents, and families
- Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive equipment and therapeutic techniques
- Maintain productivity standards while providing high-quality resident-centered care
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license/certification in applicable state
- Skilled nursing and/or long-term care experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Passion for working with the geriatric population
