Our Bethel facility specializes in precision metal forming and fabrication, supporting advanced aerospace and defense programs, including the Firefly program and other mission-critical customer requirements.
Position Summary
AMG is seeking a versatile and hands-on Manufacturing Technician to support production operations through a split assignment between our Bethel and Danbury facilities.
This role will support Firefly program manufacturing activities in Bethel while also assisting with electroforming production operations in Danbury. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while learning multiple production processes.
The Manufacturing Technician will support equipment setup, production activities, process controls, quality requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives across both locations. Travel between the Bethel and Danbury facilities will be required based on production schedules and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain manufacturing and electroforming production equipment in accordance with work instructions, drawings, and process specifications.
- Support Firefly program production activities, including assembly, preparation, processing, and related manufacturing operations.
- Perform measuring, marking, masking, surface preparation, and production support activities as required by work orders and technical documentation.
- Maintain and monitor electroforming bath components and process controls during Danbury assignments.
- Follow routers, travelers, work instructions, and quality procedures accurately and consistently.
- Inspect work in process and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
- Identify and communicate product or process non-conformances promptly.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to support production goals and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production records, documentation, and process data.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, waste reduction, continuous improvement, and 6S initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and team members regarding production status, issues, and priorities.
- Comply with all Quality Management System requirements, Environmental Health & Safety policies, ITAR requirements, and company procedures.
- Participate in cross-training and support flexible assignments across departments and facilities as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–4 years of manufacturing, production, assembly, machining, electroforming, or related hands-on experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with manufacturing equipment and hand tools.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, engineering drawings, travelers, and process documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and disciplined in following established procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel between the Bethel and Danbury facilities based on operational needs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, electroforming, metal finishing, machining, fabrication, or assembly operations.
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience using measurement tools and interpreting technical drawings.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, or 6S workplace organization practices.
