Job Description Summary:
The registered nurse supervisor reports to the administrator and is responsible for supervising services. The registered nurse supervisor ensures quality service provision and appropriate supervision.
The registered nurse supervisor is responsible to ensure client needs are met, which includes, but is not limited to, the assessment process, the creation and maintenance of the plan of care, the coordination of services, and the supervisory process.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
The responsibilities of the registered nurse include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, staff, and community.
- Provides care as defined within the scope of nursing practice and the regulated acts.
- If directed by the administrator, makes the initial evaluation visit and regularly re-evaluates the client’s needs.
- Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions, keeping the administrator updated on the revisions.
- Prepares progress notes and summary of care documentation using agency's system for documenting visits and care; adheres to documentation standards as per written policy.
- Informs the administrator, physician, and other relevant personnel of changes in the client’s condition and needs, as applicable.
- Counsels the client and family in meeting client needs.
- Assists in the development of agency goals.
- Implements and ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures.
- Assists the administrator with assessing the competency of caregiver staff to promote quality, continuity, and safety of client care.
- Supervises, educates, and coaches other personnel as directed by the administrator.
- Provide information to be used for statistics, reports, and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting of organization activities.
- Ensures proper maintenance of records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
- Ensures compliance of accepted standards of practice both for themselves and subordinates.
- Identifies and participates in agency performance improvement activities.
- Stays informed of changes in the field of home care and overall healthcare to share with appropriate personnel.
- Promotes home care referrals in the healthcare community.
Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice;
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Associate’s degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science degree, preferred;
- Must consent to and pass a background screening check;
- Must have a baseline TB test on record with [Organization Name] and consent to an annual TB assessment;
- Must have a Free from Communicable Disease form on record with [Organization Name].

Working Environment:
- Contact with clients in home care settings.
- May involve irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client needs.
- Medium exposure to bloodborne pathogens.

Physical Requirements With or Without Accommodations:
- Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull;

Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
