Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of our HVAC parts and materials warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will bring at minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in HVAC parts, materials management, and installation practices, and will serve as the operational backbone of our distribution and supply chain function. This role requires strong leadership, deep technical product knowledge, and proficiency with modern warehouse and inventory management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HVAC parts and materials warehouse, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety at all times.
- Manage receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping of HVAC components including equipment, refrigerants, ductwork, controls, and related materials.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels through cycle counts, physical inventories, and real-time tracking systems.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage, damage, and obsolescence.
- Coordinate with purchasing and procurement teams to ensure timely replenishment of critical HVAC parts and materials.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse staff including leads, pickers, receivers, and drivers.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Schedule and assign daily workloads to meet operational demands while managing labor costs effectively.
HVAC Product & Technical Expertise
- Apply deep knowledge of HVAC parts, components, and systems (residential, commercial, and industrial) to accurately identify, handle, and route products.
- Advise internal teams and customers on part compatibility, installation requirements, and material specifications.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of refrigerants and other regulated or hazardous materials in compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations.
Technology & Systems Utilization
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Epicor) for inventory tracking, order fulfillment, and reporting.
- Leverage Microsoft Office Suite and data tools (Excel, Power BI, or equivalent) to analyze inventory trends and generate operational reports.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies including barcode scanning, RFID, and digital workflow tools to drive accuracy and efficiency.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe warehouse environment by enforcing OSHA safety standards and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, equipment inspections, and staff safety training.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations for any outbound freight and hazardous materials shipments.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in warehouse management, with specific focus on HVAC parts, materials, and installation practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in HVAC systems, components, and supply chain operations across residential and commercial applications.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP software, and Microsoft Office Suite; strong overall computer literacy.
- Proven track record of managing warehouse teams of 10 or more employees.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA refrigerant handling requirements, and DOT compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- HVAC certification or equivalent technical training (e.g., EPA 608 certification).
- Certified in forklift and material handling equipment operation.
- Experience with Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma warehouse methodologies.
- Familiarity with HVAC distributor or wholesale operations.
Physical Requirements
This role requires the ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. The warehouse environment may involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and noise. Candidates must be physically capable of working in these conditions safely and consistently.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
