Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings according to care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when required
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support clients with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing memory care techniques and ensuring a safe environment
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a hygienic living space to promote overall well-being
- Follow established care plans and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient support
Requirements
- An Active HCA is required
- Prior experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration
- Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are required; additional certifications in hospice care or dementia/Alzheimer’s care are a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate attitude to provide empathetic support
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Pay: $22-$28/hour, depending on experience, level of care, and certification status
