Job Description: Auto Parts Counter Sales Consultant
Previous automotive sales experience a plus but will train right person. As a counter sales consultant you will be responsible for providing a superior customer service experience to all walk-in retail customers and phone contact customers. You will be selling recycled, aftermarket, new and OEM Surplus auto and truck parts. We are seeking individuals with professional phone skills, computer skills, common sense and a polite and good sales attitude.
Hours are from 8:00 to 5:15 Monday - Friday.
Essential Job Duties:
Personally, greet all customers as the walk through the door and maintain friendly and helpful contact throughout their shopping experience.
Create work orders, delivery tickets and follow thru with all sales to ensure customers’ pickup orders are ready in a timely fashion and delivery orders are pulled, inspected and processed for delivery the next day.
Maintain accurate records of all transactions and sales, as well as accurate cash drawer transactions.
Make follow up calls to customers to solicit orders and to make sure their delivery of parts was as expected and that they were satisfied.
Assume other duties as assigned.
Sales requirements include: Only applicants that fulfill the requirements will be considered.
Prior automotive experience and knowledge of automotive parts preferred but not required
Professional phone skills, well spoken with clear articulation and knows how to listen
Must have computer skills
Strong customer service skills, non argumentative
Common Sense/good decision-making skills
Clean, neat and professional appearance
Have an excellent work ethic/on time and dependable
Be a team player and get along with others
Good with daily paperwork/organized
Follow directions
Must be honest and trustworthy
Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Employment with Northlake Auto Recyclers is contingent upon the successful completion of a physical and drug screening.

Northlake Auto Recyclers located in Hammond, IN has been in business since 1983. We sell recycled, new, OEM surplus and aftermarket parts for late model auto and lite trucks. NAR operates from an 80,000 square foot warehouse and indoor parts storage facility, plus 80,000 square foot covered outside parts storage. All professionally organized in a private 18-acre yard.
