Job description:
This position supports eye care services to patients of all ages. The role involves developing and applying skills as a Medical Assistant, including optical and imaging duties through on-the-job training and self-learning modules.
Strong customer service, attention to detail, clear communication, and timely documentation are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Assistant Duties
- Room and screen patients for providers
- Perform optical and point-of-care lab testing
- Accurately document patient information in a timely manner
- Assist with optical services including:
- Benefits verification
- Frame selection and measurements
- Order entry and payment collection
- Order verification, dispensing (glasses and contacts)
- Adjustments, repairs, and warranty replacements
- Manage inventory including ordering, cleaning, returns, and frame placement
- Assist with invoice approval and reconciliation
Imaging
- Acquire ocular imaging (photos, OCT, visual fields, topography)
- Enter imaging data into medical records for provider review
Administrative Support
- Assist with triage and scheduling of referred, recalled, or diabetic patients
- Handle phone calls, patient inquiries, and documentation
- Coordinate with Referral Care Coordinators and providers
- Support patient referral processes
- Maintain office and medical supplies
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times
- Collaborate with team members to support patient care and organizational goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- BLS Certification
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of medical assistant experience required

Pay: $42.00 - $46.00 per hour
