About the Position
Brookstone Environmental is seeking an experienced Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) to join our growing environmental consulting team. This position is focused on New York City Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) projects, including E-Designation sites, Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, and remedial planning.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing NYC OER projects from investigation through regulatory approval, including preparation of RIWPs, RAWPs, RIRs, and obtaining the Notice to Proceed (NTP). This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing firm and take on a leadership role while working remotely on challenging environmental redevelopment projects throughout New York City.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and sign Phase II Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) reports.
- Prepare Remedial Investigation Work Plans (RIWPs).
- Prepare Remedial Action Work Plans (RAWPs).
- Prepare Remedial Investigation Reports (RIRs).
- Manage NYC OER E-Designation and Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) projects through Notice to Proceed (NTP).
- Coordinate directly with the NYC Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) and other regulatory agencies.
- Conduct and oversee soil, groundwater, soil vapor, indoor air, and waste sampling investigations.
- Interpret environmental data and develop remediation recommendations.
- Prepare technical reports and regulatory submissions.
- Coordinate subcontractors, drilling contractors, laboratories, and field personnel.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
- Ensure compliance with NYC OER, NYSDEC, EPA, and OSHA requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
- Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of environmental consulting experience.
- Strong experience with NYC OER E-Designation projects.
- Experience preparing Phase II ESAs, RIWPs, RAWPs, and RIRs.
- Knowledge of NYC OER guidance, NYSDEC regulations, and environmental remediation.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD is a plus.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
