Position Summary
Seabrook Dental Lab is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Dental Technician specializing in dentures and removable prosthetics to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience fabricating high-quality complete dentures, partial dentures, immediate dentures, repairs, relines, and denture setups.
The technician should be able to work independently while maintaining excellent quality, esthetics, accuracy, and turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate complete and partial dentures from start to finish.
- Perform denture setups, wax-ups, processing, finishing, and polishing.
- Fabricate and finish immediate dentures.
- Perform denture repairs, relines, rebases, and additions.
- Read and understand dental prescriptions, impressions, bite registrations, and laboratory instructions.
- Set denture teeth according to the doctor's prescription and patient-specific requirements.
- Evaluate tooth position, midline, occlusion, vertical dimension, and overall esthetics.
- Make appropriate adjustments to denture bases and occlusion.
- Ensure proper fit, function, and natural appearance of finished dentures.
- Identify potential issues with impressions, bites, tooth position, or case design and communicate them to management or the doctor when necessary.
- Maintain consistent quality and accuracy while meeting assigned turnaround times.
- Follow laboratory protocols for materials, processing, finishing, and infection-control procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
- Work collaboratively with other technicians and laboratory staff.
Required Experience & Skills
- Previous professional experience in denture/removable work is required.
- Strong experience with complete dentures is highly preferred.
- Experience with partial dentures, immediate dentures, repairs, and relines.
- Strong understanding of denture tooth arrangement and occlusion.
- Good knowledge of denture acrylics, processing, finishing, and polishing.
- Excellent attention to detail and esthetics.
- Ability to read and follow dental laboratory prescriptions.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot common denture-related issues.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to meet production deadlines without compromising quality.
- Experience working in a commercial dental laboratory is preferred.
- Knowledge of implant-retained dentures/overdentures is a plus.
