Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive physical education curricula tailored to diverse student needs, including early childhood education and elementary school levels.
- Design lesson plans that incorporate assessment-driven instruction, learning technology, and innovative instructional design principles to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management, conflict management, and behavior management strategies that promote respect and cooperation.
- Assess student performance regularly using quantitative analysis for student progress evaluation and adapt instructional methods accordingly to support academic interventions and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS).
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and student assessment practices to ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations.
- Utilize LMS (Learning Management Systems) to track student progress, communicate with parents, and integrate library services or other resources into lesson plans.
- Support students with special education needs or disabilities by implementing inclusive teaching practices aligned with Montessori or other specialized educational approaches.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience teaching physical education at the elementary or preschool level, with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children, including toddlers and preschoolers, fostering their motor skills and social-emotional growth.
- Experience designing curriculum that integrates literacy education, math skills, and health education within physical activity contexts.
- Familiarity with assessment tools for student performance data analysis and experience conducting academic advising or tutoring in physical education or related subjects such as math or literacy.
- Knowledge of educational compliance standards, regulation requirements, and best practices in early childhood education settings.
- Prior experience working with students with disabilities or in special education environments; experience implementing academic interventions using multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS).
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and specialists to support student success; conflict management skills are highly valued.
