The Direct Delivery Caregiver is responsible for the daily supervision, safety, and therapeutic support of youth receiving services in the residential treatment program. The caregiver serves as a critical member of the care team, directly implementing trauma-informed practices and service strategies that align with the T3C Service Packages. Caregivers promote safety, well-being, and development through structured daily routines, therapeutic engagement, and individualized interventions. As part of their role, caregivers will be trained on and are expected to implement the agency’s approved Treatment Model consistently in all care and interaction with youth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide 24-hour supervision and direct care to youth, maintaining a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
· Assist youth with daily living skills, including personal hygiene, grooming, eating, and dressing, using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach.
· Implement individualized service and treatment plans developed by the clinical team.
· Implement the approved treatment model consistently as part of daily routines, interactions, and interventions.
· Engage in therapeutic, recreational, and educational activities with youth.
· Utilize behavior management strategies and de-escalation techniques consistent with trauma-informed care principles (e.g., TBRI®, CPI, or SAMA).
· Prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals in compliance with dietary and health guidelines.
· Administer and document prescribed medications in accordance with policies and licensing standards.
· Complete required documentation (e.g., daily logs, incident reports, medication records, behavior reports) timely and accurately.
· Participate in fire drills, emergency preparedness, and safety protocols including overnight observation checks.
· Support crisis intervention efforts and follow behavior support plans and emergency response plans as directed.
· Transport and accompany youth to appointments, family visits, school, and community outings.
· Collaborate with treatment team and attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
· Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the facility and youth living spaces.
· Protect youth rights and promote dignity, respect, and cultural sensitivity in all interactions.
· Other duties as assigned by the Childcare Administrator or Treatment Director.
