Position Summary
A confidential aerospace / precision manufacturing client in Woodinville, WA is seeking a Machinist Level II / CNC Mill Operator to support CNC machining operations. This role is responsible for safely setting up and operating proven programs, machining complex parts within specified tolerances, inspecting part details, and making in-process adjustments to ensure quality.
The Machinist Level II will interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications, use precision measuring equipment, manage tool wear, adjust offsets, and inspect completed parts for defects. This position may also support other machines as needed to balance workflow.
The ideal candidate will have CNC machining experience, strong blueprint reading ability, GD&T comprehension, and the ability to measure parts accurately and make proper tool offsets.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines using proven programs safely and productively.
- Machine complex parts within specified tolerances.
- Run multiple machines and manage tool wear during production.
- Produce conforming parts according to blueprints, sketches, engineering specifications, and quality standards.
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, engineering specifications, and machining instructions.
- Identify part features and make in-process adjustments to the initial part.
- Use the correct measuring equipment to inspect part details.
- Verify dimensions consistently and accurately throughout the machining process.
- Change cutting tools and adjust offsets as needed.
- Perform thread rolling, single-point threading, boring, reaming holes, deburring, and preparation for inspection.
- Deburr parts as needed.
- Fully inspect parts according to standards to identify defects or nonconformances.
- Optimize programs as needed within the scope of the role.
- Communicate machining problems, tooling issues, quality concerns, and solutions effectively.
- Collaborate with other employees to support production flow and quality goals.
- Support other machines as needed to balance workflow.
- Observe and implement Lean Manufacturing methods on all job assignments.
- Learn and follow company policies and procedures, including applicable Business Quality Management System standards related to the work center.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Previous CNC machining experience required.
- Ability to set up and operate CNC machines using proven programs.
- Ability to machine complex parts within tolerance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
- Ability to measure parts and make appropriate tool offsets.
- Comprehension of GD&T.
- Experience verifying dimensions using precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to change cutting tools and adjust offsets.
- Ability to identify part features and make in-process adjustments.
- Ability to deburr and inspect parts according to quality standards.
- Ability to communicate problems and solutions effectively.
- Willingness to collaborate with other employees.
- Ability to follow safety, quality, Lean Manufacturing, and work center procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Fanuc controllers.
- Experience running DMG Mori NLX / NZX turning centers or multi-channel lathes preferred.
- Experience using bore gauges and thread wires preferred.
- Experience working with hardened stainless steel is preferred, but not required.
- Thread rolling experience preferred.
- Broaching experience preferred.
- Single-point threading, boring, reaming, deburring, and inspection preparation experience preferred.
- Aerospace or precision manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience working under BQMS or similar quality management system standards preferred.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive machining tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle parts, cutting tools, machine controls, inspection tools, and production documentation.
- Ability to work around CNC machines, cutting tools, coolant, metal chips, precision parts, and production equipment.
- Ability to lift, move, push, pull, and position parts, tools, fixtures, or materials as required.
- Ability to wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures.
- Additional physical requirements may apply based on site and work center needs.
