Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) – Psychiatric to join our behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing mental health and behavioral health conditions. You will work closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to promote patient safety, stabilize acute symptoms, support recovery, and develop individualized treatment plans. Your clinical expertise, empathy, and ability to respond effectively to behavioral health needs will contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric and nursing assessments, including evaluation of mental status, behavioral health history, vital signs, and current symptoms.
- Monitor patients for changes in mental and physical condition, including signs of psychiatric deterioration, medication side effects, behavioral changes, or safety concerns.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately while monitoring therapeutic responses and potential adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks while ensuring compliance with HIPAA requirements.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with psychiatrists and the multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
- Provide therapeutic communication, emotional support, patient education, and crisis intervention to patients experiencing mental health or behavioral challenges.
Requirements:
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Specialty: Psychiatric/Behavioral Health nursing experience
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
