Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles including box trucks, personal vehicles, or commercial trucks to deliver food orders across designated routes.
- Load and unload deliveries using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
- Follow all traffic regulations and adhere to DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines to ensure safe driving practices at all times.
- Navigate efficiently using mobile devices and route driving tools to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing travel time.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering orders with professionalism, friendliness, and a positive attitude.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including documentation of load & unload activities and delivery confirmations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform safe lifting practices during loading/unloading processes to prevent injuries.
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving or related roles such as warehouse operations or material handling.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and heavy-duty equipment like pallet jacks safely.
- Strong knowledge of traffic regulations, weight handling in the workplace, and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with route driving preferred.
- Customer service orientation with effective communication skills.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting, manual handling, moving items, and performing manual tasks safely.
- Familiarity with mobile devices for navigation and communication during deliveries.
