Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Payable Administrator to join our finance team. Duties
- Process and verify invoices using various financial systems such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, or Sage, ensuring adherence to company policies and GAAP standards
- Perform data entry of invoice details into accounting software with accuracy and attention to detail
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions regularly, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly
- Prepare journal entries related to accounts payable activities and maintain detailed records for audit purposes
- Assist with accounts receivable management and general ledger accounting as needed
- Support accounts payable automation initiatives to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements while handling confidential information securely
Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial compliance standards such as GAAP
- Proficiency in financial software systems like Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms
- Experience with Excel data analysis using formulas, VLOOKUP functions, spreadsheets, and data reconciliation techniques
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes including invoice processing, account reconciliation, and journal entries
- Knowledge of accounts payable automation tools and electronic payment systems such as Paychex or Sage is a plus
- Excellent analysis skills for identifying discrepancies and resolving issues efficiently
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining high accuracy in data entry and record keeping
