Responsibilities
- Conduct patrols of assigned areas to deter crime, monitor traffic, and ensure public safety.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, incidents, and reports of suspicious activity.
- Investigate criminal activities by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and conducting searches in accordance with evidence law and criminal procedure.
- Write detailed reports documenting incidents, arrests, and investigations with clarity and accuracy.
- Enforce traffic laws through traffic stops, citations, and accident investigations while ensuring safe driving practices.
- Manage conflict situations with professionalism using conflict management techniques to de-escalate tensions.
- Apply procedural law knowledge during searches, seizures, arrests, and court proceedings to uphold legal standards.
- Assist in criminal investigations by collecting evidence, analyzing information, and collaborating with other law enforcement agencies.
- Engage with the community through outreach programs to promote safety awareness and build trust.
- Maintain physical readiness through training in first aid protocols such as CPR and first aid procedures to provide immediate assistance when needed.
- Handle animals responsibly when required by animal handling or animal care protocols during patrols or investigations.
Experience
- Prior experience in law enforcement or military service is highly desirable; candidates should demonstrate leadership qualities and a strong sense of duty.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, criminal law experience, search and seizure law, immigration law, evidence law, criminal investigation techniques, and criminal procedure is essential.
- Proficiency in report writing with attention to detail ensures accurate documentation of all activities.
- Familiarity with security principles such as loss prevention and surveillance enhances operational effectiveness.
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely under various conditions is required for effective patrolling and response efforts.
- Experience with animal handling or animal care is a plus for situations involving animals during patrols or investigations.
