Responsibilities
- Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve meals to residents with courtesy, professionalism, and a focus on customer satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, dining spaces, and food service equipment through proper sanitation and cleaning procedures
- Support food handling, bussing, and sanitation tasks to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Follow all food safety protocols, including proper storage, temperature control, and hygiene practices
- Help with meal setup, portioning, and replenishing supplies during service hours
- Collaborate with the dietary team to ensure timely delivery of meals and accommodate special dietary needs
Skills
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred
- Strong background in food production, food handling, or culinary experience within the food industry or healthcare settings
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently coordinate meal preparation and service tasks
- Knowledge of sanitation standards, food safety regulations, and kitchen cleanliness practices
- Ability to provide friendly customer service while working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with meal preparation, cooking, serving, and general kitchen duties is beneficial
- Familiarity with dietary department operations and food safety protocols enhances performance in this role
