Job Overview
United Contractors is seeking an experienced, highly connected Business Development Manager to help drive our continued growth throughout Utah. This individual will be responsible for building and strengthening relationships with owners, developers, architects, brokers, property managers, consultants, and industry partners while identifying new project opportunities that align with our strategic goals.
The ideal candidate is a natural relationship builder who genuinely enjoys meeting people, understands the Utah commercial construction market, and has an established network within the industry. They are professional, energetic, self-motivated, and thrive on creating opportunities through trust, credibility, and consistent follow-up.
Experience in estimating, preconstruction, or project management is highly desirable, allowing the candidate to confidently discuss project feasibility, budgets, schedules, and delivery methods with prospective clients.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, brokers, property managers, and other industry influencers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with United Contractors' strategic goals.
- Maintain an active pipeline of prospective clients and projects.
- Represent United Contractors at industry events, association meetings, networking functions, and community organizations.
- Schedule and conduct client visits, lunches, presentations, and project tours.
- Coordinate with estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams to develop winning pursuit strategies.
- Assist with RFQs, RFPs, interview preparation, and proposal strategy.
- Work collaboratively with marketing to develop client-focused presentations and promotional materials.
- Stay informed on upcoming developments, market trends, public and private projects, and economic activity throughout Utah.
- Track business development activities and opportunities within the company's CRM system.
- Foster long-term client relationships that result in repeat business and referrals.
- Support company branding and reinforce United Contractors' reputation for quality, integrity, and exceptional service.
- Embody and promote United Contractors' Vision, Mission, Values, and PROMISE behaviors in every client interaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of successful business development experience within the commercial construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of the Utah construction market.
- Existing relationships with owners, developers, architects, commercial real estate professionals, brokers, and industry decision-makers.
- Experience with general contracting, construction management, or design-build project delivery.
- Estimating or preconstruction experience preferred.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to develop new clients while maintaining long-term relationships.
- Self-starter with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating across departments.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
