Duties
- Coordinate dispatching of freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
- Monitor GPS data to track vehicle locations and optimize routing efficiency.
- Manage shipping & receiving schedules, ensuring timely delivery and pickup of goods.
- Input and maintain accurate data entries related to freight movements, inventory, and shipment status.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, vendors, and internal departments via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Support fleet management by scheduling maintenance, tracking vehicle usage, and updating logistics records.
- Assist with analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements within supply chain operations.
Skills
- Proficiency with transportation management systems such as LinxUp
- Strong understanding of GPS technology and transportation planning principles.
- Excellent communication skills paired with professional phone etiquette for clear stakeholder interactions.
- Skilled in data entry with high accuracy using tools like AS400 and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of freight logistics, shipping & receiving procedures, and 3PL (third-party logistics) operations.
- Ability to analyze transportation data to support decision-making processes within supply chain management.
- Experience with fleet management software and shipping documentation processes.
