Field Supervisor – Transit Rider Survey Project for The Bus & Skyline

ANIK Inc, a transit research staffing firm, is seeking 2 exceptional Field Supervisors to lead our team of Field Surveyors on an important passenger research project for TheBus and Skyline.
This project will collect transit rider travel information that helps improve public transportation throughout Honolulu. The data collected will directly support future transit planning and better service for the community.
This is a hands-on leadership position. You won't be supervising from behind a desk—you'll be out in the field alongside your team, ensuring every rider interaction reflects ANIK's commitment to professionalism, accuracy, and exceptional customer experience.

Position Details
- Pay: $30.00 per hour
- Average Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week (some weeks slightly less)
- Project Dates: Tuesday, August 11 through approximately the first or second week of November (Supervisors will start Monday, August 10)
- Two Shifts Available:
- AM Shift: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- PM Shift: 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM
About the Role
Our Field Surveyors will be riding aboard TheBus and Skyline, conducting a tablet passenger survey throughout their shifts. As a Field Supervisor, you will oversee these teams in the field working out at various transit stations throughout the transit system to support staff, monitor quality, provide coaching, and ensure the project runs smoothly.
You should be comfortable riding public transit. You will also occasionally conduct passenger surveys yourself and provide on-board training and coaching to Field Surveyors while they are actively working.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of 20 Field Surveyors throughout each shift
- Check staff in at the beginning of every shift
- Check staff out at the end of every shift
- Travel within the transit system to support field staff
- Monitor survey production, accuracy, and quality
- Use project tracking software to monitor completed surveys
- Provide on-board coaching and training as needed
- Conduct passenger surveys alongside your team when needed
- Ensure project procedures and quality standards are consistently followed
- Have equipment fully charged and ready to go for the day
- Maintain clear communication with management

Preferred Experience
- Supervising or leading teams

- Transit, transportation, tourism, airport, or event operations
- Field research or survey experience (helpful but not required)
Requirements
- Strong professional references (references will be checked)
- Must have a reliable laptop
- Reliable vehicle to get to and from assigned starting locations
- Ability to work early mornings or evenings based on your chosen shift
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Comfortable riding public transit throughout the day as needed
- Ability to use a laptop and tablet throughout the shift
- Working knowledge of Google Maps and Microsoft Excel
- Eligible to work in the United States
