Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Crane Operator/Material Handler to join our dynamic construction and logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various types of cranes and handling materials efficiently and securely on construction sites or warehouse environments. Your expertise will ensure the safe movement, lifting, and placement of heavy loads, supporting project timelines and maintaining strict adherence to safety standards. Duties
- Operate overhead cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, and other lifting equipment with precision and safety compliance
- Handle materials using load securing rigging methods, ensuring loads are safely rigged and balanced before lifting
- Follow load handling procedures in crane operations to prevent accidents or damage during lifting and transportation
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes and other heavy equipment, checking hydraulic systems, safety equipment, and load capacity limits
- Adhere to construction workplace safety regulations and OSHA safety standards during all operations
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities by loading/unloading materials and verifying inventory accuracy
- Maintain clear communication with team members regarding load movements, safety protocols, and operational updates
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of cranes, hydraulics, load handling procedures, and heavy equipment operation
- Proven experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, boom trucks, excavators, backhoes, and other material handling equipment
- Knowledge of construction site safety regulations and implementation of OSHA safety standards
- Ability to perform rigging using various load securing methods safely and effectively
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety protocols and proper use of safety equipment such as helmets, harnesses, gloves, and eye protection
- Commercial driving skills for operating trucks or transport vehicles as needed for material movement
- Excellent understanding of materials handling processes within warehouse or construction environments
