Duties
- Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls for vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or emergencies involving cars and trucks.
- Perform vehicle diagnostics and basic troubleshooting to identify mechanical issues quickly.
- Safely load and unload vehicles onto flatbed or tow trucks using proper cargo securement protocols.
- Conduct minor mechanical repairs such as battery replacements, fluid top-offs, and tire changes to get vehicles operational.
- Execute vehicle recovery towing for various scenarios including accident recovery and breakdowns involving commercial trucks.
- Operate tow trucks with automatic transmissions, ensuring safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks while adhering to safety standards.
- On-Scene Customer Service: Interact with AAA members under pressure, establishing quick rapport, assessing their safety, and solving their problems efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with drivers, explaining repair procedures, and ensuring their safety and satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, vehicle details, and repair actions for accountability and reporting purposes.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines related to automotive diagnostics, cargo securement protocols, and safe driving practices for commercial driving environments.
- Must be able to pass back ground check and drug screening.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with automotive diagnostics, minor mechanical repairs, and basic vehicle troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience operating tow trucks, flatbeds, or vehicle recovery equipment in diverse roadside scenarios.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair procedures for cars and trucks, including commercial vehicles.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience in commercial truck driving preferred; must have a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with cargo securement protocols and safe vehicle loading techniques for tow truck operations.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle stressful situations professionally and calmly.
- Prior customer service experience demonstrating clear communication and problem-solving abilities. Why work for us?
