Machine Repair Technician

Compensation: $35/hour
Position Overview:
Seeking a skilled Machine Repair Technician to support maintenance and repair operations within a manufacturing foundry environment. This is a direct hire opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys troubleshooting industrial equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and helping keep production running safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do as a Machine Repair Technician:
As a Machine Repair Technician, you'll be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing foundry equipment and machinery. You'll work closely with operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime while ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with OSHA standards.
Machine Repair Technician Duties Include:
- Troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and production equipment
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues involving switches, fuses, limit switches, proximity switches, light curtains, motor contactors, and related components
- Performing routine preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Inspecting motors to identify open windings, shorts, and bearing failures
- Lubricating equipment and replacing filters as part of scheduled maintenance
- Conducting preventive equipment inspections and documenting findings
- Responding to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborating with production and management teams to prioritize maintenance activities
- Completing daily maintenance reports and documentation
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives
- Following all OSHA safety standards and established shop procedures
- Performing other maintenance-related duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery preferred
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and safety procedures
- Experience working with foundry or heavy manufacturing equipment is a plus
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to obtain a Journeyman Card after receiving a job offer
- Ability to work any shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
