Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Operations Summary
Chetu is seeking a full-time, senior-level Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Operations to drive operational excellence, elevate leadership performance, and strengthen delivery execution across the organization. This role serves as a strategic leader of leaders, focused on empowering Directors, improving operational health, and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across all teams and verticals.
The AVP of Operations is proactive, solutions-oriented, and highly accountable, operating with a “How can I help you succeed?” leadership mindset. The ideal candidate excels at developing strong leaders, fostering collaboration, and championing a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Compensation Structure
Package Range: $150,000-$170,000/year
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Organizational Development
- Lead, mentor, and elevate the Director of Operations leadership layer through capability assessments and individualized development plans.
- Strengthen team performance, accountability, and leadership effectiveness through clearly defined KPIs and OKRs.
- Conduct structured performance and development reviews, recognizing high-performing leaders and coaching others toward success.
- Operate with executive maturity and sound judgment, confidently managing day-to-day operational decisions aligned with organizational objectives.
- Provide strategic recommendations, proactive execution updates, and escalate matters requiring executive alignment to the VPO.
Operational Delivery & Performance Management
- Monitor delivery performance across projects, accounts, and verticals to identify improvement opportunities, mitigate risks, and maintain high-quality standards.
- Establish operational dashboards, metrics, and review cadences to ensure transparent visibility into delivery health.
- Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, and Operations teams to ensure client commitments are consistently achieved and exceeded.
- Bring strong experience managing offshore teams in India, including talent development and cross-functional coordination.
- Travel regularly to India delivery centers to strengthen relationships, support alignment, and enhance team engagement.
People Development & Leadership Enablement
- Foster a coaching-first leadership culture centered on empowerment, support, and long-term professional growth.
- Provide leaders with the tools, guidance, and resources needed to maximize effectiveness.
- Build an environment where leaders take ownership, communicate proactively, collaborate effectively, and demonstrate strong business acumen.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategic Initiatives
- Partner across departments to support strategic initiatives including AI adoption, delivery model optimization, process improvements, and new service offerings.
- Contribute to organizational planning and operational strategy to scale delivery capabilities and improve client outcomes.
Requirements
Experience
- 20+ years of progressive experience in operations, delivery management, or leadership roles.
- 10+ years in senior leadership positions.
- Demonstrated success improving team performance, optimizing operations, and leading organizational transformation.
- Experience managing large-scale operations within IT services; custom software development preferred.
- Proven ability to lead across multiple delivery teams, geographies, and business verticals.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Technical Background
- Technical background in engineering, computer science, or IT services is a plus.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and people development capabilities are equally important.
