About the Role:
Resolution Health And Wellness Ctr in Halethorpe, MD is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance abuse treatment and recovery
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on client assessments and needs
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute substance-related challenges
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, social workers, and case managers
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and case records in compliance with regulatory standards
- Educate clients and families on addiction, coping strategies, and community resources for long-term recovery support
Requirements:
- Active ADT, CAC-AD, LGPC, LCSW-C, LCPC, or equivalent Maryland state licensure or certification preferred
- Prior experience in substance abuse counseling, addiction treatment, or behavioral health settings
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, motivational interviewing, and 12-step facilitation
- Strong communication, empathy, and active listening skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building therapeutic relationships with clients
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation requirements
