Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product demos and recommendations
- Operate the cash register (POS system) accurately to process retail sales transactions and handle cash, credit, or digital payments
- Maintain an organized cash drawer through proper cash handling and balancing at the end of shifts
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales and customer satisfaction
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is clean and inviting
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Assist with merchandising efforts and product displays to attract customer attention
- Support in stocking inventory and managing product knowledge to assist customers effectively
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred, especially with POS systems and cashiering duties
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in bilingual settings (if applicable)
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are a plus for team support roles
- Basic math skills for handling transactions, discounts, and inventory counts
- Knowledge of retail store product offerings and merchandising techniques
- Ability to perform cashiering tasks efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Familiarity with retail math, cash register operations, and cash drawer handling procedures
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to connect with diverse customers
- Experience in grocery stores or familiarity with grocery products is advantageous
