The shift time for this position is Sunday - Wednesday 7PM - 5AM
The Payments Operations Specialist supports financial products and services by ensuring transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and within required timeframes. This role provides operational and functional support in a fast-paced banking environment and requires a set schedule to ensure 24/7 customer coverage, including weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Execute bank settlements, cut-offs, and scheduled activities while ensuring critical deadlines and service levels are met.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries accurately and promptly, including payment, settlement, and reconciliation questions.
- Provide functional support for in-house applications, troubleshoot issues, and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Maintain and review operational procedures, schedules, checklists, reports, and documentation.
- Support issue resolution, weekend testing, monthly reporting, industry certifications, ad hoc projects, and new product launches.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable industry standards while supporting team training and contingency readiness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a business related field and 2 years of relevant experience or 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
- Strong knowledge and experience of payment processing, clearing and settlement, trade processing, ACH, NACHA, ECCHO, RTP, and related banking operations.
- Experience with mainframe and Windows distributed systems, batch and real-time banking systems, and credit/debit card processes, including EMV and card network standards.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing, time-sensitive priorities.
- Flexibility to work weekends and provide coverage when needed.
Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
