Position Summary
We are seeking a customer-focused and organized Heavy Duty Truck Service Writer to join our team. The Service Writer serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the shop, coordinating repairs, preparing estimates, scheduling work, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, strong mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and gather detailed information regarding vehicle concerns and repair needs
- Prepare repair orders, estimates, and work authorizations
- Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow with technicians
- Communicate repair recommendations, costs, and timelines to customers
- Monitor repair progress and provide timely updates throughout the repair process
- Order parts and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely repairs
- Review completed work orders for accuracy and process invoices
- Maintain accurate customer and vehicle service records
- Ensure warranty claims and documentation are completed properly when applicable
- Deliver outstanding customer service while building long-term customer relationships
- Assist with shop operations and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, or Truck Service Coordinator preferre
- Knowledge of heavy-duty truck systems and diesel equipment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Experience with shop management software and estimating systems
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Valid driver's license

Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
