Overview
We are seeking a reliable and friendly Floral Delivery Driver to join our flower shop team. In this role, you will ensure timely, careful floral products to customers, ensuring a positive experience with every order. You‘ll assist with organizing deliveries, basic shop support, and vehicle maintenance. Requirements Include:
Valid license, clean driving record, attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and presentation, good time management, and friendly attitude, with duties extending to route planning paperwork, and representing the business’s brand at each stop. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift and handle items (sometimes heavy) carefully. Familiarity with local roads, GPS navigation, and traffic patterns. Dependability, punctuality, and a professional attitude. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, during busy floral seasons. Basic knowledge of floral products (training provided). Must feel comfortable driving in the city and on highways.
Duties
- Delivery: Safely load, transport, and unload floral arrangements, plants, and gifts. Maintaining delivery logs, receipts, and records of completed deliveries. Drive safety, follow traffic laws, and protect the flowers and yourself during deliveries.
- Customer Service: Interact courteously with customers, obtain signatures and resolve issues.
- Route Management: Plan efficient routes using GPS and manage delivery schedules. Let staff know when deliveries are completed or if there are delays or problems. There is a dedicated delivery phone to use to make calls to recipients and document each delivery with a photo of the front of the house and arrangement. Signature is required for every delivery or notification left at the door. If delivery is left at the door a phone call with message and text message is required to the number provided.
- Vehicle Care: Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs. Fueling and cleanliness.
- Shop Assistance: Help with packaging, organizing, product processing, take trash out daily, general upkeep during downtime, or assist with event setup. Water house plants weekly, keep up on branding of bags, jars, and care cards. Restock of vases, bags, care cards, and business cards. Wash buckets daily and weekly for fresh products. Help process new products that come into the shop. Run errands for the shop, pick up product and or materials as needed in the floral van. Clean and sweep design room. Assist head Floral Designer with creating arrangements. Part-time position with opportunity for full time.
- Time Management under Pressure: Floral holidays like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day see a massive surge in volume, requiring drivers to adapt their pace and work extended hours
- Delicate handling: Unlike delivering boxes, floral arrangements are top-heavy and sensitive to temperature. Drivers must be mindful of the cabin climate and avoid sudden stops or sharp turns that could damage the blooms.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Experience
- Previous delivery driver experience preferred, especially with route driving in urban or suburban areas
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver’s license is preferred for specific vehicle requirements
- Experience with heavy lifting, moving flowers or equipment, and working in fast-paced environments is advantageous
- Familiarity with courier services or route-based delivery operations will be beneficial
