Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic, results-driven Rochester Field Sales Representative to join our growing sales team. In this role, you will be the face of our company in the Rochester market, responsible for building and expanding a new territory through direct business-to-business sales activity.
Pay: $65,000-75,000+ Commission ( Over 100k in first year earnings possible)
You will prospect new business, develop strong customer relationships, uncover freight and logistics needs, and position our LTL trucking and logistics services as trusted solutions for companies across the consumer goods sector. Key Responsibilities
- Prospect, develop, and close new business opportunities within the Rochester market.
- Conduct daily in-person customer visits, cold calls, lead generation, and strategic outreach to drive new sales activity.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of local, regional, and national account opportunities.
- Develop and execute territory management strategies to maximize sales coverage, market penetration, revenue growth, and share of wallet.
- Build relationships vertically and horizontally within customer organizations, including operations, procurement, logistics, and executive-level contacts.
- Conduct customer presentations and service discussions that clearly demonstrate the value of the company’s LTL, freight, and logistics solutions.
- Manage existing accounts by providing ongoing support, identifying upsell opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, service solutions, and business terms that align with customer needs and company goals.
- Utilize CRM software and sales management systems to track leads, manage customer interactions, maintain pipeline visibility, and analyze sales performance.
- Collaborate with operations, service center leadership, supervisors, customer service, sales support, and internal teams to ensure strong execution and a seamless customer experience.
- Partner with marketing and leadership teams to support targeted campaigns, generate new leads, and enhance brand awareness in the region.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, market conditions, transportation service models, and customer needs.
- Share market intelligence, sales updates, and future business opportunities with local leadership and service center teams.
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of successful B2B sales experience in transportation, logistics, LTL, supply chain, consumer goods, technology sales, or a related industry.
- Experience using Salesforce.com, HubSpot, or a similar CRM platform.
- Proven track record of prospecting, cold calling, closing new business, and growing customer accounts.
- Strong hunter mentality with a competitive drive to win.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a history of closing deals in a field-based or territory-based sales environment.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct compelling customer presentations and service discussions with diverse audiences.
- Strong time management, organizational, and territory planning skills.
- Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and develop strategic plans for territory growth.
- Understanding of competitor strategies, transportation pricing, service models, logistics needs, and market trends.
- Outstanding customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence customers at multiple levels of an organization.
