Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Collect patient vital signs, document symptoms, and perform basic clinical tasks such as EKG's.
- Assist healthcare providers with procedures including medication administration and basic anatomy or physiology support.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient intake processes, and follow-up communications to ensure timely care delivery.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation by updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR management), coding diagnoses with ICD codes, and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Support clinical staff with tasks like taking patient histories, recording vital signs, and preparing exam rooms for outpatient visits or inpatient procedures.
- Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, managing patient inquiries, verifying insurance information, and coordinating referrals or hospital admissions when necessary.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in medical settings such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or emergency medicine is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of cardiology and internal medicine is a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and ICD coding for accurate documentation.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medication administration protocols.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
