Dakin Farm is looking for a full-time Retail Store Manager to lead operations at our South Burlington retail location. We are looking for someone passionate about creating an exceptional customer experience, takes pride in merchandising and presentation, and enjoys leading a team in a fast-paced retail setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Experience & Sales
- Create a welcoming shopping experience with exceptional customer service.
- Assist customers with product recommendations, gift selections, and questions
- Drive sales through knowledge of Dakin Farm products, sampling, and promotions
Merchandising & Store Presentation
- Merchandise seasonal products, gifts, and Vermont favorites
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail space
- Monitoring product placement to maximize sales
- Ensure displays, signage, and promotional materials stay fresh and updated
Inventory & Store Operations
- Manage inventory levels and place product orders to keep the store stocked
- Monitor sales trends and place orders to meet seasonal demand
- Oversee receiving, stocking, pricing, and organizing inventory
- Ensure store operations run smoothly and efficiently each day
Leadership & Team Support
- Lead by example, creating a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Create and manage weekly employee schedules to ensure proper staffing coverage and smooth store operations
- Support, train, and motivate store staff
- Collaborate with team members across departments
- Be a reliable resource for both staff and customers
Qualifications:
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience preferred
- Well versed in POS systems.
- Dedicated, highly organized with strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong merchandising skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable managing inventory, ordering, and store operations
- Positive attitude with a willingness to support the team wherever needed
- Ability to lift products, stock shelves
Essential Job Functions:
Availability of working 40 hours per week. Must be willing to cover weekend shifts as needed.
This Full-time position includes an excellent and comprehensive benefit package to include medical, paid time off, paid holidays, 401K with company match, and employee discounts. Anticipated starting rate is between $22 and $25 / per hr
