We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a focus on delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality are maintained. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take dental X-rays and medical imaging while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
- Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain strict infection prevention management practices through proper sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and handling administrative tasks using patient management software.
- Ensure all dental instruments are properly processed and stored according to infection control standards.
- Assist with the operation of dental equipment including 3D scanners and other advanced clinical tools.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote overall oral health.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant within a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to pediatric dentistry or oral surgery.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for managing patient records efficiently.
- Knowledge of dental x-ray techniques, sterilization procedures, and infection control protocols aligned with healthcare standards.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient workflow.
- Strong understanding of dental instruments, equipment operation, and dental sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient management.
- Certification in Dental Assisting is preferred; additional training in medical imaging or pediatric dentistry is advantageous.
- Commitment to maintaining clinical confidentiality policies and adhering to healthcare infection prevention standards.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
