Travel RN - Med/Surg

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position in Carlsbad, NM, requiring 2+ years of experience and a NM or compact RN license.

Day shift position, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
13-week contract
Inpatient Med/Surg unit with occasional non-critical pediatric patients
Patient ratio of 1:6
Floating and on-call required; on-call is limited to census flex call prior to shift start when census is low
EMR: MedHost
Scrubs: any color accepted

Active NM or Compact RN license required
BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Valid driver's license required
US Social Security Number required

General medical-surgical inpatient nursing duties, including occasional care of non-critical pediatric patients
Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico; note that the fingerprint process can take several weeks
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
Blocked scheduling may be accommodated upon request
RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
