PRN Transit Driver – Northwest Dakota Public Transit Job Summary
Purpose
Northwest Dakota Public Transit provides transportation services throughout Williston and Watford City.
Reports To
The Transit Driver will report to Dispatcher.
Job Overview
The Transit Driver must safely guide their buses in all traffic and weather conditions. They are also responsible for inspecting buses before the start of a shift, obeying traffic laws, adhering to schedules despite conditions and ensuring that passengers pay correct fares for rides.
Responsibilities and Duties
This is a PRN position, hours worked will be Monday-Friday, between the hours of 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Promotes an organizational culture that embraces the values of respect, care, support, effective, communication, teamwork, collaboration, accountability, and responsibility; and works with all staff to create and maintain a workplace environment reflective of such values
- Customer service oriented and willingness to assist passengers in and out of vehicles
- Assists in the boarding of passengers using wheelchairs or other mobility aids and properly securing wheelchairs and/or scooters
- Communicate relevant and necessary information to appropriate staff while adhering to confidentiality standards
- Properly maintain interior and exterior of vehicles, ensuring they remain clean
- Maintain training records, including periodic refresher trainings to ensure skills remain functional
- Utilizes resources appropriately and adheres to all guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate, this summary is not considered to encompass all responsibilities
Qualifications
- Fine motor skills
- Visual acuity
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- First Aid and CPR certified
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Must be willing to meet all training requirements
- Ability to successfully pass all pre-employment requirements including a drug/alcohol test and background investigation
