Genesee School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Math and Science Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards for middle school math and science curricula.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a love for learning.
- Integrate technology and hands-on activities to enhance student understanding of mathematical concepts and scientific principles.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and curriculum advancements.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and academic progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
- Support school-wide activities and events, contributing to a strong sense of community within the school.
Requirements
- Valid teaching certification for middle school math and science in the state of Michigan.
- Proven experience teaching middle school students, preferably in a math and science capacity.
- Strong understanding of middle school curriculum standards and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to the diverse needs of students.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
