Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and strategic Hospice Director of Business Development to lead our growth initiatives. In this vital role, the primary function is to oversee and direct business development initiatives for the hospice organization. Responsibilities include developing strategic referral relationships, overseeing marketing and outreach efforts, driving census growth, identifying market opportunities, supporting community partnerships, and ensuring the business development team operates in alignment with organizational goals, compliance standards, and quality healthcare practices.
Job Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited college/university, preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three years of experience in healthcare marketing, hospice business development, physician relations, or healthcare leadership preferred. Supervisory or management experience preferred.
Skills:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with referral sources, physicians, facilities, staff, leadership teams, andcommunity partners. Strong leadership, communication, presentation, strategic planning, organizational, and team management skills required.
Transportation:
Reliable transportation and current auto insurance. Current driver’s license required.
Environmental and Working Conditions:
Works under a variety of conditions in facilities, hospitals, offices, and community settings; ability to travel locally; ability to work a flexible schedule; some exposure to unpleasant weather.
Physical and Mental Effort:
Prolonged sitting, standing, and driving may be required. Requires the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner while meeting deadlines, growth goals, and operational expectations.
Essential Functions: Evaluation:
- Promotes the philosophy, mission, and administrative policies of the Hospice by presenting a positive and professional image.
- Develops and maintains strategic relationships with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and community referral sources.
- Provides leadership, oversight, accountability, and support to marketing representatives and business development staff.
- Establishes growth goals, monitors marketer performance, and assists with development of strategic territory and referral plans.
- Conducts regular field coaching, ride-alongs, and performance evaluations for marketers and outreach staff as assigned.
- Collaborates with executive, clinical, and operational leadership to align census growth strategies with operational capacity and patient care standards.
- Tracks referral activity, admissions trends, conversion ratios, and growth opportunities and reports findings to leadership.
- Develops and implements business development initiatives, community outreach programs, and strategic partnerships to support organizational growth.
- Maintains knowledge of hospice services, eligibility requirements, payer sources, and industry trends to effectively educate referral partners and staff.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to hospice marketing and business development practices.
- Assists with development and maintenance of policies and procedures specific to business development and marketing operations.
- Participates in networking events, educational presentations, leadership meetings, and public relations activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
