Summary of Position
Responsible for providing technical support for the set-up, operation, and product changeover of CNC mills and lathes.
Responsibilities
-
Assists in the ongoing development and manufacturing process of existing and new products.

Assists Engineering in creating new and modifying existing tooling and gauges.

Assists Machine Operators in trouble shooting and offset adjustments prior to Engineering assistance.

Performs setups for CNC machine operations including fixture alignment, tool setting, and offset loading.

Conducts training of personnel in CNC machine operation, tool setting, fixture setups and part inspection.

Troubleshoots, as necessary, problems that may arise and develop workable solutions.

Set up product change over.
-
Use jog control and MPG (Manual Pulse Generator).

Responsible to inspect, replace, and set tooling.

Load and unload fixtures.

Perform basic routine maintenance functions on equipment.

Perform inspection of own work using go and no-go gauge to ensure few or no mistakes are made in the assembly of the product.

Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality, and other manufacturing personnel for assignments and to resolve quality issues.

Produces the required quantity of parts and/or product to meet established daily goals.

Utilize company ERP system to track product through the production line.

Maintain sound working knowledge and application of firearms safety.

Complete all required paperwork timely and accurately.

Adhere to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company.

Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment as always directed by Company.

Immediately report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.

Demonstrate a positive attitude towards co-workers, other departments, and the Company.

Maintain respect, courtesy and professionalism towards all co-workers and the Company.

Actively participate and support the 5S process by maintaining a clean workstation and department.

Qualifications & Knowledge Required

Read and interpret drawings, to determine dimensions of critical features to confirm accurate finished work pieces.

Working knowledge of firearms production, tooling and gauges

Proven knowledge of drafting standards and tolerances

Experience using inspection equipment and tools.

General maintenance aptitude

General computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite

Must be capable of following all established environmental safety protocols required by OSHA/federal and state agencies and the Company.

Must be able to interact effectively with a variety of people.

This position requires attention to detail as well as the ability to follow directions, organize and prioritize accordingly.

General mechanical ability is required.

Knowledge of and experience with hand tools
-
Adhere to essential functions of position such as attendance and timeliness.

Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including but not limited to, calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales.

Ability to use tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts and other accessories used on various CNC machines.

Ability to accept and follow directions.
Working Conditions
Work is normally performed throughout a heated manufacturing and warehouse facility. Exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of light manufacturing, shipping and receiving, and normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.
