Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and dependable Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in keeping our apartment community safe, functional, and welcoming for all residents. The ideal candidate has a strong background in general maintenance, a proactive mindset, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance: Perform routine repairs and maintenance across the property, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and appliances.
- Resident Repair Requests: Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner, ensuring resident satisfaction.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and scheduled maintenance on building systems to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
- Property Upkeep: Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of common areas, amenities, and exterior grounds.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards, building codes, and maintenance protocols to ensure a secure environment for residents and staff.
- Inventory Management: Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of maintenance supplies. Ensure tools are safely and properly stored.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in an apartment or residential setting.
- Proficient knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues quickly and independently.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with property management.
- Willingness to be on-call for after-hours or emergency repairs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- HVAC certification or relevant technical training.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with property management or work order software.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, and working in outdoor or confined environments.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions as required.
