Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. The RBT will work directly with individuals with developmental disabilities, implementing behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role is crucial in providing support and promoting positive behavioral changes through applied behavior analysis techniques. Please note that we provide services in schools, homes, and communities in Shelby and Fayette Counties. Travel is required and reimbursed for qualified distances.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to clients under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the BCBA to increase communication, social, academic, and daily living skills.
- Collect accurate and detailed data on client behavior and skill acquisition using data collection systems provided.
- Assist with skill assessments under the direction of a BCBA.
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with supervisors and team members.
- Follow behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and safety protocols, including responding to challenging behaviors in a calm and therapeutic manner.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required to ensure high-quality care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Provide session notes and updates in a timely and professional manner.
- Promote a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for clients.
Skills
- Knowledge of ABA principles and practices
Understanding of behavior analysis techniques, reinforcement strategies, and behavior reduction procedures.
- Strong data collection and documentation skills
Ability to accurately record data and session notes using electronic systems or paper formats.
- Excellent communication skills
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, families, and supervisors.
Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations and when working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Adaptability and problem-solving abilities
Capable of adjusting to changes in session plans, client needs, and environment.
Willingness to work under the direction of a BCBA and coordinate with other therapists or staff.
Ability to manage sessions effectively and arrive on time.
Ability to be on your feet, engage in play, and assist with physical prompts as needed during sessions.
